Potty Training Yorkie Puppy
Potty training your yorkie puppy should be fairly easy. If you follow my tips you should not have any problems. Most of the problems people have are not with the dog but with themselves. Many times owners screw things up but blame the dog.
To potty train you need to set up a strict schedule about when you will let your dog outside to use the bathroom.
Whatever times you set, stick with them so the dog knows when it can and cannot go.
Younger yorkie puppies need to be let outside more often than adults. Also remember the puppies learn by making mistakes. This is how we all learn so have lots of patience with your dog.
I normally let the dog outside every three hours when they are really young. As they get older I cut it down to only three times a day.
This schedule depends on your work schedule but whatever you decide stick too it.
Also make sure your family is on board with this. I doubt you are home all the time and most likely a family member will need to help you.
One person not letting the dog out to use the bathroom and derail all the work you put into your dog.
Congratulations on your new yorkie puppy and good luck with the potty training. Have lots of patience and stick to schedule and you should be okay.
