The Yorkie Pomeranian mix brings together the qualities of two very popular dogs, the Yorkshire terrier, and the Pomeranian.
Size
Both of these dogs belong to the Toy Group according to the AKC. Both the Yorkie and the Pomeranian weigh less than 7 pounds and stands less than 9 inches tall.
So assume that a Yorkie Pomeranian Mix would be no bigger than this. Remember that since this dog is a mix between two purebred breeds and not a pure bred itself, the resulting offspring is a random outcome. So don’t expect all Porkies to be the same.
Popularity
Both of these breeds remains very popular which is perhaps how this mix came about. The Yorkshire terrier is usually ranked number 2 and the Pomeranian has been ranked 13th in terms of popularity out of all 157 dog breeds according to the AKC.
Temperament
Both dog breeds have very good temperaments so I would expect that this mix would also have a very good temperament and make a great house pet.
Health
It can be hard to gauge the health of a mix like this but if you are considering buying one you should always take it and have the dog examined by a veterinarian within a couple days of buying your new dog.
